Classic Hot Chocolate ~ in black & white

Change… a wonderful thing. Delightful. Fascinating. Albeit a bit scary.

There has been change. A great deal of it, as of late.

School commenced August 20, 2013. I received a camera, August 20, 2013. A Canon EOS Rebel, T3i – to be precise. My intention is to shoot with it, solely, from this point forward. We shall see how I improve… My sophomore elective is Digital Photography, you see. Though memorizing camera terms is quite a tedious task, I am eager to learn, to discover, to develop the eye of a true artist. It will take a great deal of time. I amย most certainly prepared to invest a great deal of time.

Ah, but let us set matters of photography aside.

Summer is very nearly over. Prior to school’s beginning, I dreaded the end of such a free, peaceful season. Lately, however, I have fully embraced my tenth-grade routine and simply cannot wait for autumn to get underway. Autumn is pumpkin spice candles, apple cider, maple and brown sugar oatmeal, thick, wool tights, and cozy, fleece blankets. Autumn is amazing. Autumn is my absolute favorite.

Despite the burden of homework, despite having to rise early each morn, despite the return to incessant studying… Autumn is so worth it.

This hot chocolate, however – Perhaps a bit untimely. I tend to associate this thick, rich, delicious beverage with winter. Every so often though, a steaming mug is utterly necessary. Serve with pecans, and the sweet, little snack serves as the perfect autumnal welcome.

Nothing could greet Fall more appropriately.

Now, it is difficult for me to fathom that, as of tomorrow, September shall officially be upon us.

Time really does fly.

This is not necessarily a negative observation, it is merely a plain fact. At the moment I am enjoying the start of Labor Day weekend, but within forty-eight hours will be packing a lunch and laying out clothing for yet another typical school day.

There is always something to look forward to, however, whether it be as basic as a weekend cookie photoshoot or as exciting as a ~big ~ trip over the course of Thanksgiving Break – months away, yes, I am aware.

So, sip hot chocolate on the final day of August. With marshmallows. And golden brown sugar. And pecans. Minutes are fleeting, minutes are precious. Enjoy them all.

Oh, and Autumn – your arrival is much anticipated.
