Peanut Butter Cake with Chocolate Frosting
Ah, peanut butter & dark chocolate & cake. Is there a trio of words yummier than this in existence?
I think not.
So… let’s discuss this palatable, oh-so-sweet treat, now, shall we?
I prepared this lovely dessert several months ago… around mid-October, perhaps? My initial intention was to share this decadent, peanut-buttery cake on my birthday, but it simply wasn’t possible. I arrived home from a brief trip to Europe in late November, and merely a week later was touristing with my family in San Francisco, where I celebrated my seventeenth. In short: I was far too exhausted to write a full recipe post, though I did manage to put together yet another special edition of lovely little quotes.
Hmmm, I suppose none of what I rambled on about above has much to do with this delicious, chocolatey goodness. It’s time to remedy that, yes?
I stumbled upon this recipe nearly a year ago, shortly after a blogger I have followed for quite a while posted it, along with a handful of her original, pretty-pretty pictures. At once, I was certain that this cake would be ideal for my coming birthday, which was then still a number of months away. Nevertheless, I jotted down the thought on a pastel sticky-note, and by some miracle, actually succeeded in remembering it when the time finally came.
Though I baked, frosted, and served this delectable dessert several weeks in advance of my actual birthday (a result of 2014’s rather hectic travel schedule), it didn’t really matter at all, in the end. You see, this cake perfectly ushered in a new year of my life… and, oh, I hope you love it, too!
Now, for the recipe:
