Weekend Things

Happy Saturday, All!

Though I have quite a few posts to share with you at the moment (from cookies to coffee shops to cake and more!), today I’m popping in with a brief little ‘Weekend Things‘, some links, & a few itty bitty updates.

For the curious folks out there, I shot the above photograph this past January while strolling along our local pier. I just adore those birds… seeing them while at the beach is always such a treat.

Let’s move on to life & links now, shall we?

On Instagram: This week’s Instagram favorites of mine:

Chelsea Diane: Chelsea takes the prettiest pictures! Her lovely work is tremendously inspiring. I heart it.

Skye McAlpine: Skye’s snapshots are perfection. Oh, the way she captures Venice! Love.

Mary/Dear Scout: Follow Scout. Send her love and positive thoughts. She is amazing, and courageous, and so, so strong.

My Life: Just everyday happenings…

  • This will most-likely be my last post of the month, as I’ll be traveling next week – Yay! France (and, of course, Paris!) photographs are soon to come.
  • I’ve been reading quite a bit lately, and therefore, have some excellent suggestions for you all. I highly recommend The Glass Castle, a captivating memoir that I finished myself last week, and Sarah Dessen’s The Truth About Forever is such a sweet, heartwarming read. I also completed John Steinbeck’s The Pearl, and though I enjoyed it, it isn’t a story I would particularly love to read a second time. At the moment I’m about halfway through The Longest Ride… The movie comes to theaters next month, and I always prefer to have finished the book prior to seeing the film. I mean, the book is always better… right?
  • Oh, and I’m currently on season six of That ’70s Show… mental preparation for the show’s season eight finale has begun. (there will be tears & sobbing & depression. it’s inevitable.)

Around the Web: Bits and pieces from the internet!

Eva’s remodeled kitchen is utterly perfect. ~ Brioche love! ~ Morocco. Woah. ~ This post. The writing, the photos, the recipe. It’s amazing. ~ Prettiest cupcakes ever. ~ I heart creative people. ~ I’m always early. ~ And, I discovered the previous two links on Shutterbean. Hurrah for Tracy’s lists!

Have a wonderful week, everyone.

Sending hearts!

– Abby

  1. Thanks for the link love, Abby! So jealous that you’re going to Paris. Can’t wait to see your pictures!

    • Thanks for the comment, Michelle! I just had to include your post in my link roundup… It’s incredible 😀 xx

  2. What a great capture, I love the vivid colors and texture of the feathers!

  3. aw I love That 70’s show! I didn’t care for the ending though (let’s just say I’m a fan of Jackie + Hyde and them apart does not make me a happy camper)

and have SO MUCH FUN in France!

    • Thanks for the comment, Kayle!
Jackie + Hyde are the best… I saw some spoilers online and now I’m totally sad and dreading the end. (insert crying emoji here)

  4. Ahh yes, I always prefer reading the books before watching the movies, but I’m such a lazy reader that I often don’t read them which leads me to not watch movies… haha

Have fun with your travels! Looking forward to photos! 🙂

    • Thanks, Honoka!
I can relate to what you said about not reading/not watching. It happens to me all the time… usually by the time I finish a book the movie has already left theaters and I’m disappointed, hahah 😀
