Santa Monica, California

Santa Monica is an utterly lovely destination… it may just be my absolute favorite spot in the entirety of Southern California. The vibrancy, the laid back Los Angeles atmosphere, the ferris wheel – I adore everything about this little beachfront city.

My family and I had the pleasure of spending nearly two full days here this past May. The train ride from our hometown was, perhaps, two hours? It was worth every minute.

Below I’ve composed an itty bitty guide to this sunny city. Enjoy!

What to See/Do in Santa Monica, California

  • The Santa Monica Pier This pier is a sight you mustn’t miss during your stay. It’s remarkably large (especially in comparison to many of the piers we have further south), and jam packed with delightful activities.
  • Santa Monica State Beach Honestly, I’m not much of a beach person, myself. If you heart the seashore, however, definitely stop by this strand.
  • Third Street Promenade Because upscale shopping is always fun.
  • Pacific Park This is the amusement park located on the aforementioned pier. It’s wonderful.
  • Palisades Park Park lovers, take note: the view from this coastal park is seriously stunning.
  • Santa Monica Pier Aquarium I’m an aquarium nerd, and this particular one is a fave of mine.

Sending ♥ To You All! This month is a busy one for me, but I’ll do my best to pop in regularly.

  1. I love Santa Monica! When I lived in Hollywood, I frequented Palisades Park on the weekend. So lovely!

  2. How fun! My old coworker actually got engaged on that ferris wheel last year. Stopping by from HCBN!

  3. asfdghjkl the bright buildings, but mostly the blue sky and blue ocean!! After living in the polluted country of China for eight years, I’m forever fascinated by blue-ness haha. I went to the Santa Monica beach and pier when I was super little. Maybe it’s about time to make a trip back! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

    • Thanks for the comment, Audrey! The color and brightness there was UNREAL. Of course, I think everything here is… I’m always holed up in my room working on my laptop, so I wouldn’t know…
You absolutely MUST make a trip back! I’m heading off to college this fall, but if you’re ever in the SoCal area lemme know and maybe we can hang out. I could at least give you some amazing recs. 🙂
And isn’t it awkward when someone asks you if you’ve been somewhere and you *technically* have, but you were really, really little? I never know what to say haha 🙂

  4. I used to dream of living in Santa Monica and I’ve never evr been there! I can just tell it’s amazing!
