The Versatile Blog Award

Hi-Hi, Everyone!

The lovely Audrey Lin recently tagged me for the Versatile Blog Award, and I am so very happy to participate in it. This is how it works:

  • Thank the person who gave you the award. (Thanks, Audrey! ♥)
  • Include a link to their blog. (Brunch At Audrey’s is amazing.)
  • Tell the person who nominated you seven things about you.
  • Nominate fifteen blogs that you’ve recently discovered/followed. (I selected just five.)

So, without further ado… thank you, thank you, Audrey, for the nomination, and here are my seven facts.

ONE ♥ I adore candles and am constantly adding new ones to my ‘collection’, but never actually light them. It’s not that I don’t intend to, I just want to save them for the ‘perfect moment’… a moment that never seems to come. I do the same thing with Sharpie & gel pens, stickers, tights, shoes, notebooks, soaps, and more. You would be appalled by the sheer amount of brand new things I have laying about.

TWO ♥ As a child I was obsessed, obsessed with the Anne of Green Gables series by L.M. Montgomery. If I choose to marry someday, I will request from my future husband a circlet of pearls as an engagement ring, as opposed to the traditional diamond sort, just like Anne Shirley asked of Gilbert Blythe in Anne of Windy Poplars. Um, it’ll probably be a special order, though, as I’ve admittedly searched for one online in the past and couldn’t find a thing.

THREE ♥ I own two Despicable Me Plush Unicorns, one teeny tiny, the other quite large. They are both named Lorenzo… the bigger one has been dubbed ‘Giant Lorenzo’, actually. Our shih-tzus are obsessed with them.

FOUR ♥ This probably won’t come as a surprise to any of you, but I am addicted to online shopping. Honestly, I can’t recall the last time I purchased something at an actual mall… why scour shops for deals when Modcloth has an entire ‘Sale’ category already? And one-click ordering is the absolute best/absolute worst. Gah.

FIVE ♥ I don’t have pierced ears. This usually shocks people, as I love accessorizing & pretty things, but I hate the thought of having empty holes in my ears when I’m too lazy to put on earrings… and let’s be real, that would be pretty often. I also tend to avoid bracelets (they’re always either too loose or too tight) and rings, but necklaces and I are BFFLs (best friends for life)!

SIX ♥ Up until my first visit to Paris, I was not at all a fan of (what I thought was) French culture. I suppose it’s because Paris is overly romanticized here in the States… well, that and all the tacky ‘ooh-la-la’ garb and sparkly eiffel tower themed decor that stores like Wal-Mart and Target sell (Side Note: Never in a million years could I have guessed that I’d someday type ‘Wal-Mart’ on my blog; Oh Lord). Upon actually arriving in France, however, I fell in love with it, and decided that I wanted to learn the language. Which leads me to my next fact…

SEVEN ♥ I am terrible at languages. My mother is actually fluent in Spanish, and yet, even after 17 years of living with her and over a decade of Spanish lessons… I can’t speak it. Like, at all, really. Which is why my attempts to pick up as much French as possible before the move are, truly, quite laughable. I can’t even roll my rs, people.

Yay! Those are all of my little quirks. Now, I’m tagging…

Bec | Daisy & The Fox
Lucy-Claire | Sunny Days & Lovely Ways
Taste Neapolitan
Poppy | POPPYRK
Kate | Cora and Bella

xoxo!

  1. Thanks for keeping the tag going! 1) same! My excuse for the next three years is that I’m not allowed to have open flames haha. 3) omg I’ve wanted one for FOREVER!!! 5) I’m lazy too! My ears are pierced, but I wear the same studs all the time, never taking them off, never having to put them back on. When I FIRST got my ears pierced I’d change them every day though, and not just studs, but hoops and the dangly kinds too 😛 -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

    • Hahah, no problem, Audrey! It was such a fun post to write.
      1) OMG I’m glad I’m not the only one! Having them around just makes me so happy. 🙂
      3) YOU NEED ONE! I ordered one off Amazon, and the other my brother won for me in a carnival game.
      5) Ugh the earrings thing… so many pretty ones out there, but I have to be realistic with myself. 🙂
      xoxo!

  2. Thanks for tagging me lovely! I’ll Deffo be giving this a go! xo

  5. Thankyou so much for the nomination lovely! You’re such a sweetheart!
This was such a fun post! Is it just me or are posts when you get to learn about the author behind the blog fascinating? I think so! Loved reading this! (And the candles thing – totally with you there!) Xxxx

  6. I love reading these “quirks” ;). I’m the same way with brand new things – I always leave the tags on my new clothes until the first time I wear them, and I never want to run out of things, so I’m constantly stocking up in advance for fear of being out of my favorite lotion, pens, etc. 🙂

  7. Hi there,
I just stumbled across your blog and it’s so lovely.
Anne of Green Gables is one of my favorite childhood books too! And that’s really neat that you’re studying in France. I bet it’s really pretty over there. 🙂

    • Thanks so much, Melissa! I love your blog, too; it’s the cutest!
      Isn’t Anne the best?
And France is gorgeous… if only I spoke French fluently; it’s much prettier than English. :/
