What a lovely little blog you have. I love it so much. Congrats on the features/interviews- how exciting that you’re moving to Paris! I’ve always wanted to visit -or just move there forever- and can not yet, but some day in the future, hopefully. Will you be studying photography at art school? I will be moving to a Spanish speaking area soon, so we are kind of in different but the same boats- my French is far better than my Spanish!
I love photography more than anything, and have gotten very good at it, but always struggled with making a career of it in a way that made me happy. Sometimes I feel that being paid to create art that I’m so passionate about is limiting in itself, and I was always discouraged by the idea of it. I’m very good with portraits and storytelling through photography, though, in my ideal world I could only take photos of my family forever, every day. When I was hired to take portraits of other people it was so difficult for me because I had a limited time with them, and did not know them, or their expressions/gestures/etc. so the photos always had a different meaning for me, naturally.
Now I’ve settled on graphic/web design, which I’ve been doing much longer than photography and also love, but in a different way. Photography has now become a private passion that I do when I’m just with family and close friends.
How did you get into photography? Do you use film, or digital? I’m glad to have discovered your blog… following you on Instagram now 🙂

Thank you SO much for your kind comment. I will be studying photography at an art school!
And ooh, Spanish! My mother is fluent and I understand far more Spanish than French, though I can’t speak it very well. I think immersion is really the only way to learn… so much for those ten years of Spanish class. 😉
Oh, it’s interesting to hear your experience with a photography career. I’ll let you know how it works out for me a few years down the road… 🙂
I’m also interested in design, and have begun dabbling in it. I much prefer photography, though, and am hoping to do it on the side of my main job (whatever that may be) someday.
Of course, I’m still young, so who knows what other art forms I’ll discover and begin to love in the future?!
I think I’ve loved taking photographs since I was very young, but didn’t really realize my passion for it as an art form until I was about fifteen. I mainly use digital, but do a bit of film as well. Now that I’m in Paris I plan on experimenting with all different types of cameras and methods. I’m so excited!

Oh- also! I don’t have siblings that believe in santa, but I do have to children- my son (age 5) and daughter (age 3).
Ooh, how wonderful! I’m working on a piece for the next issue of the Lace & Lilacs Magazine (see sidebar for more info), and am hoping to include a few ‘letters to Santa’ from children as a fun read. If you have the time and your kids are all for it, I would love to feature their ‘letters to Santa’ in the winter installment! xx

Oh gosh, I mean, yes, I am already thinking about Christmas, but more like all the lazy things I’m ready for, like sitting in comfy places, eating delicious food, listening to Christmas songs and watching Christmas movies. I loved reading about an average day in your life (which I’m sure will look much different now in Paris!). I’m glad you can’t live without ice cream, and I don’t care for avocados either ;).
