Postcards from Lampang

And so, here it is, here it is! A third and final post with photos shot during my trip to Thailand just over a month ago (um, how has it already been that long, though?). This series of images essentially covers a small part of the Thai province of Lampang, which is situated in the north, just south of Chiang Mai, as well as one of my grandpa’s plumeria farms, of which he has several in the region. My parents and grandpa grow flowers for a living which is pretty fudging awesome and also might perhaps explain my obsession with flowers (it’s genetic, I guess, lol?). Also I get to say that my parents’ money literally ‘grows on trees’. So there’s that. A lame dad joke for you. Hope you enjoyed.

Pictured are temples, markets, my grandpa’s adorable doggies and one kitty-cat, my dad working away, a hella-lotta flowers, a cobra snakeskin (!!!), the inside of my grandpa’s house and the room in which I slept while there (it’s where my dad usually stays when he’s there to make cuttings, so he got to sleep on the floor in the living room instead!! He was THRILLED about this!!), the river that runs through the home property, and the Lampang airport, where we both arrived and departed. Oh, and there are some origami cranes and a few bizarrely colored snacks mixed in there, too.

I had a very good time.

As far as how life has been in Paris lately… things have finally begun to slow down (or shall I say CALM DOWN. HAHA. Yes, yes I do need help.). I wrapped up school on June 25th (though I won’t receive my final grade until the 9th of July… trying not to think about this…) and have only had to work a few days this week, as the majority of my students’ English classes have finished for the year. Tomorrow afternoon, after teaching my final class of the year, I’ll officially be on summer break until early September. Crazy, isn’t it?

I spent today cleaning and organizing my apartment, seeing as Briggy is out of town for a couple of weeks. It’s looking quite neat and pretty, if I do say so myself. I’m looking forward to finally completing the book I’ve been working on for ages, as well as starting to chip away at the summer bucket list Brigette and I began compiling together several weeks ago. And Ashy and I have already chilled together, like, three whole times this week! As he said – “I’ve seen you so much this week, Abby, I mean like what is it like 2018???” Referring to back when life was different and a whole lot happier (not that we were aware of this at the time) and our biggest problems involved boys and broken washing machines. Those were the days.

Anyways, whatever. It’s summer! For like, almost two full months! I’m going to do my very best to soak up every single sunny second of it.
