10 songs for confinement.

The 30 Day Song Challenge… in three posts

I’m sure those of you on Instagram have seen the “30 day song challenge” floating around for quite a while now, and it seems to have recently resurfaced due to this lovely period of confinement we’re all enjoying so. much!!! right now. Lol.

Well, rather than boring my Insta followers with a daily story (perso, I’m totally guilty of just skipping through all the challenges people are doing at the moment. I mean… un-muting the sound just to listen to a three-second snippet of a song? Um, forget about it, man.), I’ve decided to share my selection of thirty songs here. 10 at a time (3 posts in total), because my indecisive ass couldn’t settle on only one song for each category… I created a ‘lil hierarchy: first, the song that takes the cake and then a runner up. Wait, so I’m technically sharing twenty songs for confinement. Whatever.

I’ve selected songs which mean a lot to me on a personal level, some old, some new. I’ll admit I have pretty trashy taste in music guys (I’m all about the top 40, lmao), so I kinda doubt you’ll be discovering anything new here. But you never know? And some of these might be fun to revisit during quarantine, no?

Anyway, here we go…

A song you like with a color in the title

Winner: Red, Taylor Swift (I mean, DUH…)
Runner up: Green Light, Lorde

A song you like with a number in the title

Winner: 22, Taylor Swift (um, see my 22nd birthday party here)
Runner up: 100 years, Five for Fighting

A song that reminds you of summertime

Winner: Cruel Summer, Taylor Swift (I see a pattern starting here…)
Runner up: Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift

A song that reminds you of someone you’d rather forget

Winner: Time, Coloring
Runner up: Come back…be here, Taylor Swift

A song that needs to be played loud

Winner: Nightmare, Halsey
Runner up:
Sparks Fly, Taylor Swift

A song that makes you want to dance

Winner: Slow Down, Selena Gomez
Runner up: Ain’t Your Mama, Jennifer Lopez

A song to drive to

Winner: Ride, Lana Del Rey
Runner up: Highway Don’t Care, Tim McGraw (featuring Taylor Swift & Keith Urban)

A song about drugs or alcohol

Winner: High By The Beach, Lana Del Rey
Runner up: TiK ToK, Ke$ha

A song that makes you happy

Winner: Mine, Taylor Swift
Runner up: Teenage Dream, Katy Perry

A song that makes you sad

Winner: Last Kiss, Taylor Swift
Runner up: Ronan, Taylor Swift
And a third one, because a lot of songs make me sad (what a surprise, I know): Who Knew, P!nk

I’ll be back with the second set soon. Take care, everyone. xx
(Oh, and as for the photo… that’s my third and newest tattoo, which I just had done at the end of January. I finally had time to snap a decent photo of it… here’s the artist’s Insta.)

  1. This is a great idea! I saw the story on Instagram but I was too lazy to try to post something every day there, but having it in one blog post is a lot easier.
