Autumn-Inspired: Warm Pumpkin Spice Milk & Cinnamon Nutmeg Miniature Muffins
Though summer’s prevailing heat has yet to wholly subside, fall has undeniably – however subtly – settled in. Autumn is upon us, at long last. As each week hazily dissolves into the next, I have begun to wonder whether or not fall will truly be taken advantage of by myself this year. Today is the sixth of October… quite some time has already passed since the season commenced. Multiple quizzes, various tests — oh, and a rather time-consuming essay on A Tale of Two Cities due in a mere handful of days… where are the sweet cinnamon pumpkin candles? The piping hot mugs of Tazo tea? Both are autumnal necessities I have yet to acquire. Both are autumnal necessities I fully intend to acquire prior to the month’s end.
The month. October. Eerie. Enchanting. Perhaps my second favorite of the year -the first being November, which is preferred for a host of reasons, the first of which involves a little something called my birthday…
But oh, no. We shan’t discuss November, not now. Not while the captivating beauty of October unfolds, in its customary, bewitching manner, before our very eyes:
Pumpkin patches emerge. Leaves exchange their traditional, vibrant green hue for muted yellow, vivid orange. The hay rides. The brisk winds. All of it, beginning.
Each individual moment is precious. I refuse to miss a single one.
And so, enter warm pumpkin spice milk and cinnamon nutmeg miniature muffins. Pumpkin and cinnamon. Perfection.
Fall mornings are heavenly. Every Sunday sunrise requires an itty bitty treat. A touch of turbinado sugar. Pumpkin?
It evokes the very essence of autumn. With a dash of vanilla, a delicate sprinkling of cinnamon, a glass of steaming milk.
This simple beverage, complemented by a cinnamon nutmeg miniature muffin? Utterly incredible.
Autumn-Inspired, to be sure.
