Weekend Things

Happy Saturday to you all!

As you may be aware, I have created yet another series of sorts: Weekend Things. Though similar to ‘lovely little things’, there are a number of evident differences between the two categories of posts. My hope is that you will enjoy both, and be -at least relatively- interested in what each has to offer.

I photographed the enchanting, white roses above just over a week ago… the image simply does not do them justice. Flowers have become an obsession of mine, as of late – Trader  Joe’s has the absolute best selection. I could stand before the bouquets for hours, taking in the vast display of vibrant colors and fragrant scents. My gardening skills may be pitiful (our father is the only member of the family gifted with a green thumb), but that’s no reason to deprive myself of stunning daisies, tulips, and orchids, correct?

Now, for life and links:

On Instagram: This week’s Instagram favorites of mine:

Oh, Ladycakes: Ashlae’s photographs are utterly phenomenal. Bold, vivid, and entirely captivating, this account is a pleasure to follow.

Klodid: Klo is an immensely talented San Francisco photographer with the two most adorable children. Her collection of images is just marvelous – perfect moments, captured via iPhone.

Cook Republic: Sneh’s daily snapshots of her food styling and photography endeavors are awe-inspiring. What a fantastic eye for beauty and design, she has!

My Life: Just what’s been happening to me from day to day…

I have decided to continue my education online this coming semester, for a number of personal reasons. Though I will miss high school (seeing my friends everyday, in particular), there are a variety of advantages that come along with schooling from home. For example, I’ll now be able to pursue my passions (writing and photography) everyday. Posting on Lace & Lilacs will also be quite regular, and I’m contemplating starting up a small business of my own. As a young child, I always believed I was one for the traditional high school route, but I’m grateful for the opportunities available to me and for the constant support provided by adults in my life. The months ahead are sure to be wonderful. Bonus: I don’t have to freeze in classrooms all winter! Instead, I’ll be home, wrapped in thick blankets and sporting cozy socks, while studying at my computer. Probably with a mug of piping hot peppermint tea.

Yesterday I made a few noticeable adjustments to my portfolio. Though my design skills are virtually nonexistent, I utilized the tools format provides for its users to the best of my ability.

I think that may be it for today… time for links:

Around the Web: Bits and pieces from the internet!
