Mini Pumpkin Muffins & A November Beach
I prefer… a November beach. Its charm: undeniable. Its beauty: profound. Ah, yes a June beach is quite lovely. July and August? Delightful, as well. But… during the autumn? The lonely, isolated atmosphere is downright perfection. In the morn, the water’s edge is wholly deserted, with perhaps the sole exception of a surfer or two. The day progresses. Local residents casually stroll along the pier, clutching mugs of warm coffee in their bare hands. Mittens are so rarely necessary. Not here. I do adore them, however… gloves, of any sort. And yes, I wear them often, regardless of the balmy weather. But, I digress…
There is nothing more appealing than the beach during the fall. Though summer boasts of its enchanting seas sides, the crowds these gorgeous shores attract deter me. Tourists flock to coastal regions throughout the duration of sunny months, and I am overwhelmed by the chaotic hordes of visitors. In November it is me. and the beach. and this year, for the first time… a camera. my camera.
Me. The Beach. My Camera. In other words: pure happiness.
The rhythmic crashing of waves, the grainy sand beneath my feet, the occasional bird, swooping down from the vibrant blue sky above… all so inspiring. Magnificent, really. Really…
Also utterly wonderful? Muffins, of the miniature variety. They possess an irresistible simplicity and are oh-so sweet, delicious, a bite-sized autumnal indulgence. I do believe you’ll enjoy them, tremendously. And so… I leave you with the recipe.
Thank you for reading my particularly scattered thoughts today. xoxo. – Abby
