2018… so, I guess that’s a wrap

Happy New Year! (English in bold below!)

Okay, so here we have the English version of this post aka the only version anyone is actually going to read (which is maybe a good thing, tbh) woo! Given that I have (more than) a bit of spare time over break I thought it’d maybe be a good idea to write a ‘lil in French. Moving on…

So… how to describe 2018? Well, I mean, it was certainly interesting. That’s one way to put it, anyway. As cheesy and cliché as it sounds… I am not at all the same person I was a year ago. I mean, that’s to be expected; we all evolve so freaking much over the course of 12 months. In January 2017 I’d yet to have had a legit job here in Paris, I was still living in the cute little studio I moved into in 2016 in the 7th arrondissement, and my ‘wtf project’ was nothing more than an itty-bitty baby that has since become a huge part of my artistic identity.

Honestly, last year was hard. I’m young and so confused and unsure and I’m not sure what the hell I want in or out of life… but I mean, does anyone? I don’t think so. And that realization is terrifying, in and of itself, ya know? At least I know what I like doing. Most of the time. But doubts be ever-present, ugh.

In any case, today I feel much better than I did even just a few months ago. I have a new job and I have a tentative plan and ideas stewing and brewing in mah brain. All I need now is motivation… a little luck wouldn’t hurt either, just saying. And I’m already pretty dang motivated so we’ll see where this path I’m taking leads me. I guess.

Now! For some pictures! These aren’t necessarily the best photos I shot over the course of 2018, but all together like this they tell a story… my most memorable 2018 memories, I guess you could say. Haha.

Favorite posts from 2018:

  • Last year on New Year’s day I shared photos shot at the Mont Saint-Michel several days earlier whilst I visited with my family. Look! I also quite like these photos taken in Normandy last December.
  • I spent a few days in NYC last February! And despite the fact that I very much love the majority of photos that I took during this ‘lil trip I’m not a huge fan of the post I created to recap the experience itself. I ought to have taken the time to write something special but given that I had just started my job and was attending classes five days a week blogging was therefore the least of my priorities. But guys, I still went to New fucking York! So obviously I have to share this link, right? (You can see even more photos here.)
  • I moved in June! My dad came to help me out because he’s the actual BEST.
  • Ash and I went to Barcelona in August! And I took way too many photos, as usual. Parts 1 and 2!
  • I visited Lyon in October. I love the photos I shot there
  • I celebrated my 21st birthday in November and wrote two posts about it. One and two
  • My wtf book. I’m proud of this.
  •  Christmas, a week ago.

My one second everyday ♥

This year, in April, I began a new project… my ‘one second a day’ or ‘one second everyday’. Each day I take a little one second video and at the end of each month I mash all the seconds together to create a teeny summary of the past 30/31 days. I share these monthly recaps on my private Instagram every month and usually that’s about it. But for the end of 2018 I thought it’d be cool to mash the entire year together and share it here!

That’s all. xoxo

  1. Life is crazy and no one ever really knows what they’re doing-you just do your best to figure it out as you go along <3

  2. omg that couch on the street on Aug 6 is so gorgeous!! Was someone getting rid of it??! // The pouch made the video yayyy hehe <3 // At the end of the year, it feels like no time has passed, but then you really look back at the beginning of the year and realise how much has changed. It's crazy. I've come to realise that there are more people who don't know what they're doing than there are people who do, which gives me a little comfort. We're not alone in this, and we're all on our own journey! Wishing you another crazy year ahead <3 -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

    • Yes! I can’t believe it, I totally would have taken it if I could have. // Of course it did, I’m obsessed with it! I use it to hold index cards and highlighters for the English classes I teach. // It’s really crazy, so much can happen in just a year. In just a month, in just a week…
